Forgeline Validates Carbon+Forged Performance at Mid-Ohio
In September, Forgeline traveled to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for a controlled validation test designed to measure the real-world performance benefits of our Carbon+Forged wheel technology.
Working alongside professional driver Randy Pobst, the team conducted back-to-back testing using a new C8 Corvette Grand Sport from our friends at Vengeance Racing. To isolate the impact of wheel weight and rotational mass, the same vehicle, the same driver, and the same Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires were used throughout the evaluation. The only change was swapping between the factory forged wheels and Forgeline Carbon+Forged CF209 wheels featuring lightweight carbon fiber outer barrels.
The test generated extensive data, valuable driver feedback, and some very interesting results. While we're not quite ready to share all of the details, the performance improvements observed during the day exceeded expectations and reinforced the advantages of reducing unsprung and rotational weight.
