TF Sport’s Forgeline-equipped No. 81 Corvette Z06 GT3.R claimed a thrilling LMGT3 class victory at the FIA World Endurance Championship Six Hours of Fuji, marking another major milestone for Corvette Racing and the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R platform.
Drivers Charlie Eastwood, Rui Andrade, and Tom Van Rompuy delivered a flawless performance in the No. 81 Corvette, overcoming an early-race penalty and executing a perfectly timed late-race strategy to take the win. After six dramatic hours of racing, the team crossed the finish line just 7.2 seconds behind the leading No. 21 Ferrari—but when the Ferrari was assessed a post-race penalty, the victory was handed to the TF Sport Corvette.
The race came down to a tense final hour, with both the Corvette and Ferrari teams forced into splash-and-dash fuel stops. TF Sport’s decision to pit one lap later proved decisive, allowing Eastwood to close the gap and secure the win once the penalty was applied.
“To take the win was unbelievable,” said Eastwood. “Right place, right time—but also you have to execute, and everything went right in the last couple of hours. It’s great to get my first win with these guys in WEC and my first win in the championship since moving to Corvette.”
The No. 81 Corvette now sits third in the LMGT3 championship standings, just 24 points behind the leaders with one race remaining. TF Sport’s sister car, the No. 33 Corvette driven by Daniel Juncadella, Jonny Edgar, and Ben Keating, finished eighth at Fuji and remains fourth in the standings.
The Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 GT3.R is a factory-built, FIA-compliant GT3 racecar based on the road-going Z06. It features an aluminum chassis, motorsports-specific double-wishbone suspension, and a 5.5L DOHC LT6 V8 engine mated to a 6-speed sequential transmission. It competes globally on 18×12.5 / 18×13 Forgeline one-piece forged monoblock SS1R-GT wheels, engineered specifically for ultra-competitive IMSA and WEC GT3 racing. These center-locking wheels are precision-machined from a single forging of 6061-T6 aerospace aluminum and feature a split six-spoke design, I-beamed spokes, and an inset spoke configuration for aerodynamic advantage.
The win at Fuji adds to TF Sport’s impressive 2025 campaign, which already includes victories at Qatar and Imola, along with podium finishes at Le Mans and São Paulo. The Corvette Z06 GT3.R continues to prove its competitiveness across multiple series and continents.
TF Sport and Corvette Racing will wrap up the FIA WEC season at the Eight Hours of Bahrain on November 8.
Congrats to Charlie, Rui, Tom, the entire TF Sport team, and Team Chevy—and thank you for the trust you place in Forgeline!
