Pratt Miller Motorsports Wins 2025 IMSA Championship on Forgeline One Piece Forged Monoblock SS1R-GT Wheels

Pratt Miller Motorsports wraps up the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, taking home two podium finishes and the 2025 Driver, Team, & Manufacturer Championship titles on Forgeline SS1R-GT wheels!

The curtain fell on the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season over the October 10-12 weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, where the Motul Petit Le Mans delivered drama, excitement, and championship glory. After 10 hours of intense racing, Chevrolet's Corvette Z06 GT3.R platform left Braselton, Georgia, with podium finishes and the GTD Pro season championship title!

The No. 3 Corvette Z06 GT3.R from Pratt Miller Motorsports, driven by Antonio Garcia, Alexander Sims, and Daniel Juncadella, secured the 2025 GTD Pro Drivers and Teams Championships and delivered the Manufacturers Championship to Chevrolet. This marks Garcia’s sixth IMSA championship, Sims’ first GT title, and Juncadella’s first IMSA championship after previously finishing as GTD Pro Vice-Champion in 2023.

But the finale was anything but easy. Garcia started eighth, trailing title rival Albert Costa in the DragonSpeed Ferrari. Nearly 30 minutes of early full-course yellow slowed progress, but a lightning-fast pit cycle after the four-hour mark put Sims ahead of the Ferrari for good. From there, the No. 3 Corvette executed flawlessly, taking home a third place podium finish and locking down the 2025 season championship.

While the No. 3 car focused on the championship fight, the Pratt Miller Motorsports No. 4 Corvette Z06 GT3.R delivered an impressive performance of its own, finishing second place in GTD Pro at Petit Le Mans. This double podium finish capped a season of resilience for Pratt Miller Motorsports and underscored the undeniable strength of the Corvette GT3.R platform in professional endurance racing.

In the GTD class, AWA Racing celebrated a second consecutive Bob Akin Award championship with the No. 13 Corvette Z06 GT3.R. Drivers Orey Fidani, Matt Bell, and Lars Kern finished ninth in class after starting 19th—enough to secure the season-long honor and earn another invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team also claimed the Petit Le Mans Akin trophy as the highest-finishing GTD entry with a Bronze driver, capping a season that began with a class win at the Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Based upon the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 and sharing the road car’s aluminum chassis, the Corvette GT3.R is powered by a version of the Z06’s 5.5L DOHC LT6 V8 engine mated to a 6-speed sequential transmission. It rides on a motorsports-specific double-wishbone suspension system and a 6-piston front / 4-piston rear AP Racing braking system with unique cooling and quick-change capabilities.

Pratt Miller worked with the team at Forgeline Motorsports for several years to develop an application-specific version of our center-locking one-piece forged monoblock SS1R-GT wheel, engineered to deliver optimized performance metrics (mass, deflection, strength, and durability) specifically for the new Corvette GT3.R. Every Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 GT3.R competes on 18×12.5 / 18×13 Forgeline one-piece forged monoblock SS1R-GT wheels finished in Gloss Black.

Congratulations to everyone at Pratt Miller Motorsports, AWA Racing, and Team Chevy, and thank you for trusting Forgeline to help deliver your championship performance!
