Johor Racing Corvette Wins in GT World Challenge Asia at Fuji Speedway Japan

The team at Johor Racing continued their winning streak with the No.99 Chevrolet Corvette GT3.R in the 2025 GT World Challenge Asia Series, at Fuji Speedway in Japan, where they also earned their first podium finish in the No.66 Corvette GT3.R.

The pair of Prince Abu Bakar Ibrahim and Jordan Love started the weekend with a podium finish for the No.66 car on Saturday, after earning a second place qualifying position and navigating their way to a third place finish, the pair's first podium of the 2025 season. That was a great start, but the team had even more in store for the weekend, since Ben Green and Prince Jefri Ibrahim had qualified their No.99 Corvette on the pole position for Sunday's race, where they drove virtually unchallenged to the checkered flag and earned their third GT World Challenge Asia victory of 2025 for the Johor Racing team, the Corvette GT3.R platform, and the Forgeline one piece forged monoblock SS1R-GT wheels.

Johor Racing's Sunday victory is already their third win in 2025 (having also won in Sepang, Malaysia and at Chang International Circuit in Thailand) and marks the eighth win for the Corvette GT3.R already in the 2025 season, making a strong follow-up to AWA Racing's GTD class victory, at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January, TF Sport's WEC LMGT3 victory, at Qatar in February, Johor Racing's previous wins in GT World Challenge Asia at Malaysia and Thailand, DXDT Racing's victories at both COTA and Sebring, and TF Sport's landmark European LeMans victory at Imola.

Based upon the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 and sharing the road car’s aluminum chassis, the Corvette GT3.R is powered by a version of the Z06’s 5.5L DOHC LT6 V8 engine mated to a 6-speed sequential transmission. It rides on a motorsports-specific double-wishbone suspension system and a motorsports-specific 6-piston front/4-piston rear AP Racing braking system with unique cooling and quick-change capabilities. Pratt Miller worked with the team at Forgeline Motorsports for several years to develop an application-specific version of Forgeline’s center-locking one piece forged monoblock SS1R-GT wheel that was engineered to deliver optimized performance metrics (in terms of mass, deflection, strength, and durability) specifically for the new Corvette GT3.R, and every Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 GT3.R competes on 18×12.5/18×13 Forgeline one piece forged monoblock SS1R-GT wheels finished in Gloss Black.

Congrats to Prince Jefri, Ben, Prince Abu Bakar, Jordan, the entire Johor Racing team, and Team Chevy, and thank you for the trust that you place in Forgeline!
