Pratt Miller Motorsports delivered a statement performance on home turf this past weekend, putting both of its Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R entries on the front row for the Detroit Sports Car Classic. The No. 4 Corvette, driven by Alexander Sims and Antonio Garcia, claimed the GTD-class pole position, with the sister No. 3 car locking out the second spot to secure an all-Pratt Miller front row.
From there, Sims and Garcia converted that pole position into a race-winning performance, leading the field and delivering a well-earned victory on the streets of Detroit. The result carries added significance, as the Detroit race serves as a home event for both Pratt Miller Engineering and Chevrolet, making the win even more meaningful for the entire program.
Based on the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 and sharing the road car’s aluminum chassis, the Corvette Z06 GT3.R is powered by a race-prepared version of the Z06’s 5.5‑liter DOHC LT6 V8, paired with a six-speed sequential transmission. The car features a motorsports-specific double-wishbone suspension and AP Racing brakes, with six-piston fronts and four-piston rears designed for endurance racing, including advanced cooling and quick-change capability. Pratt Miller Engineering worked closely with the Forgeline Motorsports team over several years to develop an application-specific version of Forgeline’s center-locking, one-piece forged monoblock SS1R-GT wheel, engineered to optimize mass, deflection, strength, and durability for the Corvette GT3.R. Every Corvette GT3.R competing around the world runs 18x12.5 front and 18x13 rear Forgeline SS1R-GT wheels, finished in Gloss Black.
Congratulations to Alexander, Antonio, the entire Pratt Miller Motorsports team, and everyone at Chevrolet on a dominant performance in Detroit. And thank you for the continued trust you place in Forgeline.
