Rebel Rock Wins IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge GS at Lime Rock

After a challenging 2021 season, Rebel Rock Racing is enjoying an extremely successful 2022 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge racing season, including their first win of the 2022 season, at the July 16 Lime Rock Park 120 race, at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT.

After qualifying the #71 Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R (on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels) in the 16th spot, Frank DePew drove a successful first leg, keeping the car healthy and on the lead lap. With an hour and 16 minutes remaining in the race, Frank turned over driving duties to teammate Robin Liddell who immediately began working his way through the crowded GS field. After working his way up to 5th place, Liddell made a well-timed pit stop, just before a full-course caution. After restarting in 4th place, Liddell immediately made a pass for third and continued his charge to the front. After an exciting battle for position, and with 10 minutes remaining in the race, Liddell finally passed the #877 PF Racing Ford Mustang GT4 and continued to gap the field right up to taking the checkered flag.

The #877 PF Racing Ford Mustang GT4 driven by Kyle Marcelli and teammate Sheena Monk was passed late in the race by the #7 Volt Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 driven by Trent Hindman, but Marcelli managed to hang on for a third place finish, thus guaranteeing two podium spots for cars racing on Forgeline’s highly-successful one piece forged monoblock GS1R racing wheel.

Congratulations to Sheena, Kyle, Frank, Robin and the PF Racing and Rebel Rock Racing teams for another stellar performance at Lime Rock. And thanks for trusting Forgeline to carry the load!
