Pratt Miller Motorsports 1st and 3rd at VIR

It's not where you start, but where you finish.

The Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs of Pratt Miller Motorsports didn't start at the front of the pack, during the sixth race of the 2025 IMSA Weathertech season, at Virginia International Raceway, but it's where they finished that matters, and they finished on top! Despite starting fourth on the grid, smart driving and superior race strategy put the No.3 Pratt Miller Motorsports Corvette Z06 GT3.R, driven by Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims, in the lead, at the end of the two hour and forty minute race, giving the team their first win of the 2025 season.

Making their success even better is that Garcia and Sims shared the podium with their teammates, Tommy Milner and Nicky Catsburg, who drove the No.4 Pratt Miller Motorsports Corvette Z06 GT3.R to a third place finish.

Even though VIR was their first win of the 2025 season, Garcia and Sims entered the VIR weekend in the season points championship lead, thanks to four previous podium finishes, including three second-place finishes. And the win at VIR further solidifies their lead, giving them a 53 point advantage with just two races remaining on the 2025 calendar.

“Qualifying showed we didn’t have the ultimate pace, but it seems like VIR is always good to us,” said Garcia. “But we definitely had the race pace, and that maybe let us roll the dice a little bit on strategy. It really paid off, we jumped them in the pits, and then we extended the advantage...today was a flawless race, 100 percent. I think we’re in a really good position towards the end of the season.”

Based upon the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 and sharing the road car’s aluminum chassis, the Corvette GT3.R is powered by a version of the Z06’s 5.5L DOHC LT6 V8 engine mated to a 6-speed sequential transmission. It rides on a motorsports-specific double-wishbone suspension system and a motorsports-specific 6-piston front/4-piston rear AP Racing braking system with unique cooling and quick-change capabilities. Pratt Miller worked with the team at Forgeline Motorsports for several years to develop an application-specific version of Forgeline’s center-locking one piece forged monoblock SS1R-GT wheel that was engineered to deliver optimized performance metrics (in terms of mass, deflection, strength, and durability) specifically for the new Corvette GT3.R, and every Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 GT3.R competes on 18×12.5/18×13 Forgeline one piece forged monoblock SS1R-GT wheels finished in Gloss Black.

Congrats to Antonio, Alexander, Tommy, Nicky the entire Pratt Miller Motorsports team, and Team Chevy, and thank you for the trust that you place in Forgeline!
