Ford GT Mk IV Sets New COTA Lap Record on Forgeline One Piece Forged Monoblock "Gurney" Wheels

Smoking hot lap. During a test with Multimatic Motorsports on February 29 at Circuit of the Americas, driver Ben Sloss set a new unofficial COTA 2-seater GT lap record with a 1:58.77, in the new Ford GT Mk IV on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock "Gurney" wheels.

Only 67 units of the new Ford GT Mk IV will be produced by Multimatic Motorsports to commemorate the 1967 victory of Dan Gurney and AJ Foyt at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in the original Ford GT40. But the $1.7 million Mk IV is a serious performance machine that not only makes 800+ horsepower from its twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 Ecoboost engine but also produces massive cornering loads with real Michelin slicks and 2400 lbs of downforce at 150mph.

The engineering teams at Forgeline, Multimatic Motorsports, and Ford Performance worked closely together to design a unique wheel that can handle these extreme performance demands. The result of that effort is the 18x12.5/18x13.0 Forgeline one piece forged monoblock "Gurney" designed exclusively for the Ford GT Mk IV. The Forgeline team also worked closely with the Multimatic Motorsports and Ford Performance teams to engineer the "Gurney" wheel's compatibility with the optional aero disc, which is available from Multimatic Motorsports for the Ford GT Mk IV.

Congrats to Ben, Ford, Multimatic Motorsports, and Ford Performance for creating such an incredible performance machine and for setting the new unofficial lap record!
