The 2025 IMSA Weathertech Series Rolex 24 at Daytona will see its largest entry list to date of Chevrolet's new C8 Corvette Z06 GT3.R racecar, each competing on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock SS1R-GT wheels. A total of five GT3.R Corvettes entered by four separate teams will be competing in the 63rd running of the legendary 24 hour test, making 2025 the largest field of Corvettes since 2007.
Pratt Miller Motorsports is competing with two GTD Pro Corvette GT3.Rs, the No.3 car driven by Antonio Garcia, Alexander Sims, and Daniel Juncadella, and the No.4 car driven by Nicky Catsburg, Tommy Milner, and Nico Varrone. Trackhouse by TF Sport will be racing the No.91 GTD Pro car driven by Ben Keating, Scott McLaughlin, Shane van Gisbergen, and Connor Zilisch. AWA Racing is campaigning the No.13 GTD entry driven by Matt Bell, Orey Fidani, Lars Kern, and Martin Kirchhoeffer. And DXDT Racing is bringing their No.36 GTD Corvette driven by Charlie Eastwood, Alec Udell, Salih Yoluc, and Pipo Derani.
Based upon the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 and sharing the road car’s aluminum chassis, the Corvette GT3.R is powered by a version of the Z06’s 5.5L DOHC LT6 V8 engine mated to a 6-speed sequential transmission. It rides on a motorsports-specific double-wishbone suspension system and a motorsports-specific 6-piston front/4-piston rear AP Racing braking system with unique cooling and quick-change capabilities. Pratt Miller worked with the team at Forgeline Motorsports for several years to develop an application-specific version of Forgeline’s center-locking one piece forged monoblock SS1R-GT wheel that was engineered to deliver optimized performance metrics (in terms of mass, deflection, strength, and durability) specifically for the new Corvette GT3.R, and every Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 GT3.R competes on 18×12.5/18×13 Forgeline one piece forged monoblock SS1R-GT wheels finished in Gloss Black.
In addition to the five Corvettes in the Weathertech field, the Daytona weekend will also see five Ford Mustang GT4s competing on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels in Friday's Michelin Pilot Challenge BMW Endurance Challenge race. The large Mustang field includes entries from KohR Motorsports, McCumbee McAleer Racing, Cameron Racing, and Lap Motorsports.
Coverage of the Michelin Pilot Challenge BMW Endurance Challenge race begins on Friday, January 24 at 1:40pm ET on Peacock. And the green flag will start the 2025 Rolex 24 on Saturday, January 25 at 1:40pm ET with live coverage available on NBC and Peacock.
