Congrats to 2017 champ Lawson Aschenbach for kicking off the 2018 Pirelli World Challenge Championship season with a pair of GTS class wins, in his #1 Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels!
Lawson started the weekend, at the Grand Prix of St Petersburg, with a 4th place qualifying effort, but managed to take the lead just 2 laps into Saturday's race. Despite a last-lap challenge, he held onto his position long enough to claim the checkered flag. Saturdays win also earned Aschenbach the pole position for the start of Sundays race, where a big wreck resulted in a red flag and early ending, leaving Lawson at the front of the field for his second win of the weekend!
Aschenbach, his Blackdog Speed Shop team, and the rest of the Pirelli World Challenge Championship field return to action on March 23-25, at Circuit of the Americas, in Texas.
