Andy Voelkel achieved a long-time goal of winning the Grid Life Midwest Festival NOS Energy Drink Time Attack at Gingerman raceway, over the June 7-9 weekend, with his C8 Corvette Stingray on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock CF1 Open Lug wheels.
Andy was engaged in a lap-to-lap battle, throughout the qualifying sessions, against Pratt Miller engineer Ido Waksman, with the two drivers repeatedly setting and beating each other's respective lap records. Light rain made the leadup to the final podium sprint stressful, but Andy started at the end of his run group, which helped him find a dry line around Gingerman's 1.88 mile circuit. His winning lap of 1:33.8 was the fastest of the GT Street class and set another new lap record.
Andy’s potent 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is prepped and supported by Turn in Concepts and powered by a 469whp LT2 equipped with a Lingengfelter Performance Design Carbon pTR intake manifold, Lingenfelter 95mm throttle body, Lingenfelter’s Corsa exhaust, and Lingenfelter’s Corsa exhaust headers. And it rides on Lingenfelter’s Alcon brake package, Yokohama AO52 tires, and 19×10/19×12 Forgeline one piece forged monoblock CF1 Open Lug wheels finished in Satin Black.
Congrats to Andy and his entire team, and thank you for the trust that you’ve placed in Forgeline!
