It lives! Weve spent the past several years slowly restoring the Hikari Racing/Wheel Source Toyota Supra that Dave Schardt raced in the Speedvision World Challenge Series, throughout the late 1990s. And all of that effort finally paid off over the June 21-23 weekend, with a successful shakedown in the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course!
Having not driven this car for the past 20 years, we went into the weekend expecting that just about anything could happen. So we are extremely happy that the car (and for that matter, our bodies and souls) completed a weekend of racing without any damage or breakages or failures of any sort. (Thanks to Titan Motorsports for building a bulletproof drivetrain. ?) We were placed into a faster classification than we had originally planned. But were pretty sure that with the right tires and shocks, well be able to compete with the leaders. So we're really looking forward to our next race.
