Joey Hand Returns to IMSA with Victory at VIR

Ford factory driver Joey Hand returned to IMSA racing competition in grand style, at Virginia International Raceway, winning the Michelin Pilot Challenge GS race in the #40 PF Racing Ford Mustang GT4 along with co-driver James Pesek.

Hand only led for half a lap of VIR’s 3.27-mile 17-turn course, but fortunately it was the only one that mattered. Hand took the lead from the #21 Riley Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT GT4 driven by Scott Andrews on the 57th and final lap of the two-hour race.

PF Racing’s Sheena Monk and Kyle Marcelli finished crossed the finish line in the third position in their #877 Ford Mustang GT4, but ended up moving into second in the final results, due to a technical infraction on fuel capacity by the second place team. As a result, both of he top finishing spots went to PF Racing Ford Mustangs on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels.

Congrats to Joey Hand, James Pesek, Sheena Monk, Kyle Marcelli, and the entire PF Racing team. And thanks for trusting Forgeline to carry the load!

PF Racing returns to IMSA Michelin Pilot Challange racing action on September 30 at Road Atlanta.
