The DM Blade is a prototype vehicle built to demonstrate Divergent's revolutionary chassis manufacturing technology. Using a system of 3D printed aluminum connecting nodes and lightweight carbon fiber structural tubes, Divergent allows small locally-managed microfactories to produce their own lightweight chassis systems that can be easily engineered for a virtually unlimited number of possible configurations and applications. Their DM Blade prototype is wrapped in a composite body, weighs only 1400 lbs, and is powered by a tuned 700HP natural gas-fueled version of the turbocharged 4 cylinder engine from the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO. It is theoretically capable of going from 0 to 60 mph is less than two seconds. Yikes! The Blade rides on huge Brembo brakes, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and 19-inch center locking Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GA1R wheels finished in the Titanium powder coat.
