FORGELINE takes home the win in the Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car Invitational Presented by Hot Rod Magazine & the 2nd Annual Editor’s Challenge Cup Autocross in the Goodguys/Meguiars 3rd Orange County Get-Together!

Dayton OH, April 1, 2009 – Shortly after SEMA of 2008, Optima Batteries teamed up with Hot Rod Magazine to put on their Ultimate Street Car Invitational held at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Nevada on November 8, 2008. Sponsored driver, Steven Rupp; with his 68’ Camaro battled it out against some of today’s ultimate modern day street machines such as Porsche GT3’s and Corvette Z06’s. Running on our 17 inch ZX3R’s; Steven was able to clock in the fastest lap time (1:56.22) on the 2.2 mile road course as well as a tarmac-tearing 29.52 on the autocross setup concluding Steven and his Camaro the overall winner of the event.
In March of 2009, Steven Rupp was also registered to run the autocross course in the 2nd Annual Editor’s Challenge Cup in the Goodguys/Meguiars 3rd Orange County Get-Together. Stipulating a 180 treadwear regulation for the event; Steven was able to pull in the fastest time of 29.694 on the autocross course on our lightweight 17 inch ZX3R’s bringing home the trophy and bragging rights to FORGELINE. This particular event was a milestone for FORGELINE as it protected its credibility as a brand again, not only to the spectator’s of the event, but the reader’s and audience of all the Source Interlink Media hot rod publication titles and will be the talk for many years to come in the offices of Source Interlink Media.
Once again, FORGELINE has shown an exceptional amount of integrity in its product and brand name; to uphold the value in the brand as well as the product is one of our primary goals. Participating in major motorsports events such as the Grand-Am GT Rolex Championship to grassroots motorsports events such as these, FORGELINE will continue its efforts to maintain strong presence in the motorsports realm.
