(Dayton, Ohio) Hot on the heels of another Championship-winning season, Forgeline Motorsports has introduced their latest in a line of racing wheels. The new Forgeline EV1-R and EV3-R racing wheels offer numerous improvements over their highly successful ZX3R heritage used by professional race teams for over 15 years. Both are stronger, 5– 20% lighter depending on application and offer additional clearance around the lug nuts for faster pit stops.
A competitive advantage is to be had with Forgeline EV racing wheels as they offer considerable flexibility in sizing and offset availability. The new EV wheels are optimized for weight and strength to withstand the vigor of racing in such events as Rolex 24 hours of Daytona.
The EV1-R is a one piece wheel that is 20% stiffer than previous Forgeline and competitive wheels. Constructed of 6061 T6 forged aluminum, the Monoblock design is also compatible with all TPMS sensors and offers increased brake caliper clearance. The EV-1 is available in powder coated, polished or brushed finishes.
The EV3-R three-piece wheel offers a larger, stronger and better sealing valve stem, 6061 T6 aluminum forged centers and heat treated rim shells. Constructions features include titanium bolts with military-spec nuts to reduce weight in the most critical point - the perimeter of the wheel. Additional improvements on sealing, a concern with component wheels, are also integrated into the EV3-R.
Testing at the race track is the ultimate test of any motorsport performance product. At Forgeline, strength and durability testing begins in the design stage using advanced computer stress analysis to test each new design under a simulated load and optimize it before machining ever begins. Finished products are physically tested beyond SAE standards and real-life racing variables are used for such test criteria.
Forgeline has been manufacturing race wheels for over 15 years. As racers, they have drawn and built on their own firsthand knowledge and experience gained at the track from years of racing. Forgeline wheels are used in Grand Am, ALMS, SCCA Pro Racing, as well as virtually every amateur sports car and drifting series in the USA and abroad.
